Slow Down

This rule is the simplest, but requires the most discipline. The slower you're moving, the less energy you and your vehicle have.  In the event of an unplanned emergency, a slower speed will: afford you more reaction time, require less effort to maintain control, and in the event of an impact, reduce physical trauma. Sounds simple.  But drive anything with more than 20 horsepower, and fun takes over. It's difficult. When an emergency presents itself (somehow, they're never planned), you must identify it, decide on a course of action, and execute that action - quickly, efficiently, and accurately. Slower speed translates into greater time to successfully avoid the unexpected.
